This is exactly how I’ve been feeling with the current state of social media, and long form authoritative content has been something I’ve been talking about lot about, even in the past year. I’m so glad I’m not the only that feels this way. Excited to read more of your thoughts on Substack!

Thank you so much, Angela! YES to long form authoritative content! I hope if anything good comes out of this chaotic time in social media history, it's more of that :)

We're on the same path! :) I'm a social media strategist, and for almost 15 years, Instagram was the core of my career. But last year, things started to shift, and now I'm pivoting to focus more on Substack, podcasting, websites, and Pinterest. I'm so glad you're here! :)

I resonate with this post so much. I started my sub-stack end of 2024 because I didn’t want to make content just for the gram. I wanted to connect more with people than be just another scroll on the algorithm. IG tends to make you feel anxious if you let it…and are scrolling all the time. Overwhelmed is a good word for it lol Especially now! I feel like my creative process needed something more meaningful. So I’m turned to blogging, vlogging, podcast. And YouTube. I feel like this is such a process, but know this is the right space for me. Can’t wait for your new class regarding long content! Would love to chat soon!

Since November, I've been thinking about focusing less on social media. I'm finding more creators who are part of the anti-social media club, and I'm glad to hear you can succeed without it. Now I can get excited about creating content again. (I'm going to join VCC in the future to get back on track for this reason, so thank you for making that space!)

I feel so validated by this. I've worked in social for a long time and have also felt exactly this way for a long time. I am constantly conflicted, which is reflected in my work. Among many, one of the reasons I've followed you online for years is because I can tell we're similar this way! Looking forward to reading your future posts!!
